Over five unforgettable days we'll discover dramatic coastlines, pristine beaches, fascinating shipwreck history, world-famous local produce and some of the most breathtaking scenery in Tasmania. We'll watch Little Penguins come ashore at sunset, visit Australia's tallest lighthouse, enjoy delicious meals showcasing King Island's renowned beef, cheese and fresh local produce, meet passionate locals, and experience places many Australians have never visited.

Our Itinerary
MARCH 4 - DAY 1 - THURSDAY
TRAVEL TO LAUNCESTON
Welcome to your Flourish Experiences adventure to King Island!
Due to our early flight on Friday, our tour starts on Thursday in Launceston. Settle in at The George Hotel, ideally located in the heart of the city, and enjoy the chance to unwind before our exciting journey to King Island begins.
We will meet at 6pm for a welcome drink and optional dinner giving you the chance to meet your fellow travel companions. (own expense).

MARCH 5 - DAY 2 - FRIDAY
FLY TO KING ISLAND - THE WILD NORTH - CURRIE

This morning we make our way from the George Hotel to Launceston Airport for our early (7am) flight to King Island with Sharp Airlines.
As we travel along the North West Coast and across Bass Strait, enjoy the scenic views before arriving on this beautiful and remote island, known for its dramatic coastlines, fresh produce, and wonderfully clean air.
On arrival, you’ll be warmly welcomed by your local guide before setting off to explore the spectacular northern region. Our first stop is Reekara Top Shop for morning tea, where there is time to browse local arts and crafts. We then continue to Quarantine Bay and Martha Lavinia Beach to take in the sweeping ocean views, rugged dunes, and peaceful coastal scenery.
Lunch is enjoyed beside the tranquil Penny’s Lagoon before we explore more of the north, including Disappointment Bay and the striking Cape Wickham Lighthouse. We also visit the spectacular Cape Wickham Golf Course, where the clifftop outlooks provide an unforgettable backdrop.
On our return to Currie, we stop at the King Island Dairy Cheese Store for a tasting of some of the island’s best-known flavours, followed by a short drive through the township before checking in to Island Breeze Motel.
Dinner at the motel this evening offers a relaxed and comfortable end to a wonderful first day on King Island.

MARCH 6 - DAY 3 - SATURDAY
EAST COAST, FLAVOURS & SOUTHERN LANDSCAPES

Today we discover the beauty of King Island’s east coast, beginning with a visit to Naracoopa Jetty and a relaxed morning tea on the Esplanade.
From here, we continue to Sea Elephant, a peaceful estuary where birdlife and coastal scenery create a wonderfully calm start to the day. Lunch is enjoyed at the King Island Brewhouse, where local food and beverages are served in a welcoming island setting.
In the afternoon, we travel south to the dramatic Seal Rocks and the fascinating Calcified Forest, one of King Island’s most unusual natural features. A guided walk here offers an easy and enjoyable way to learn more about the island’s ever-changing landscape.
We then visit Raff Farm for a glimpse into local life, agriculture, and produce, before a short tour through Grassy township. This evening, dinner is enjoyed at the much-loved Wild Harvest Restaurant, where local ingredients and island flavours take centre stage.
As dusk settles, we head to Grassy Harbour for a memorable Little Penguin viewing experience, watching these delightful little birds return ashore after a day at sea.

MARCH 7 - DAY 4 - SUNDAY

SHIPWRECKS, CREATIVITY & ISLAND STORIES
Today begins with a visit to the Cataraqui shipwreck site, one of King Island’s most significant and moving maritime landmarks. This evocative location offers time to reflect and appreciate the island’s rich history and the stories shaped by Bass Strait.
Lunch is enjoyed in a charming country garden setting, providing a relaxed and memorable dining experience.
In the afternoon, enjoy a creative and cultural experience with the opportunity to make your own piece of King Island-inspired kelp craft using one of the island’s most distinctive natural materials.
Afterwards, there is time to connect with the other ladies or put your feet up and relax.
Dinner this evening is at the King Island Golf and Bowling Club, where you can enjoy a hearty meal featuring local King Island beef. Local crayfish may also be available to order for those wanting an extra treat (subject to availability and surcharge).

MARCH 8 - DAY 5 - MONDAY

HISTORY, ART & ISLAND FAREWELL - FLY TO LAUNCESTON
Our final day begins with a visit to the King Island Museum, where the stories of shipwrecks, settlement, and island resilience are brought to life.
Morning tea is enjoyed at the Hub before visits to the Boat House and a local gallery, showcasing art and creativity inspired by King Island’s landscapes and community spirit.
Lunch is enjoyed in Currie, followed by a visit to Kelp Industries for insight into one of the island’s unique local industries. We also visit the British Admiral and Netherby sites, each adding another layer to the island’s fascinating maritime story.
Later this afternoon, we make our way to the airport for the 5.25 pm flight back to Launceston. As we farewell King Island, there is time to reflect on the beautiful scenery, warm hospitality, local flavours, and special shared experiences that have made this journey so memorable.
On arrival in Launceston, we continue home with wonderful memories to treasure. Our Flourish Experiences adventure concludes at Launceston Airport - you are welcome to arrange your own accommodation in Launceston if you want to stay another night or continue with your onward journey home.

Accommodation on King Island is at Island Breeze Motel and may be in either a standard motel room or cabin, depending on room allocation. Twin Share guests will share a room with another Flourish guest (please write the name of your room mate on the booking form). Single Room guests will enjoy their own private room.
Travelling on your own but would like to book at the Twin Share price? We'd be delighted to try and match you with another Flourish guest.
While we'll do our very best to find a suitable roommate, we can't guarantee a match. If we are unable to pair you with another guest, the Single Room price will apply.

We commit to supplier deposits and payments well in advance of departure. For this reason, please choose carefully, as all payments made towards this tour are non-refundable. We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance at the time of booking to protect you should illness, injury or another unforeseen circumstance prevent you from travelling.
If you are no longer able to attend, your booking may be transferred to another female traveller (subject to availability and Flourish Experiences' approval). An administration fee may apply to process the transfer.

Fitness & Mobility
This tour is best suited to guests with a reasonable level of mobility and general fitness. Throughout the trip there will be regular sightseeing, walking on uneven surfaces, getting on and off the coach several times each day, and standing for periods of time while exploring attractions.
While the walks are generally easy to moderate, guests should be comfortable walking unassisted and managing their own luggage.
